We made a spatial exercise with the students, to position themselves in the room in response to a number of questions. Here are some of the outcomes:
– the majority of students prefer the urban to the rural
– most of them see their own future to take place in a town or city- not a single student was certain about staying in the village they grew up in
– their spare time is generally spent to 80% at home and the rest outside and in public spaces
We also made a few more mind-maps and discussed what has been drawn.
We also talked about how the work to date could inform the redesign of the outdoor platform at the gallery. For most of them this is the main part of the project and discussed how to progress initial observations and ideas into a design concept.
The next step will be to come to Leipzig in early February and to present what we’ve done so far.
